River Nidd

Little Ribston - Coarse fishery

The Club have fishing rights on two stretches of the River Nidd near the village of Little Ribston. The waters are a good mixed coarse fishery with trout, grayling, chub, perch, dace, barbel and pike all present (best barbel. 9lb, best pike, 19lb).

Day Tickets are available on-line during the coarse season. A single ticket cover access to both beats (LR1 and LR2), but take note that on certain match days, only beat LR1 can be fished with a Day Ticket. Match Days are clearly identified when purchasing a Day Ticket.

Access to both beats is off the B6164 which runs between Knaresborough and Wetherby (see Map).

Beat LR1 is accessed via an obvious gate at the top end of Little Ribston Village. Parking is roadside only. Please close the gate. The beat runs upstream, following round a long horseshoe bend and ends at the first field boundary.

Beat LR2 is accessed by turning right off the road just past the turning to Scalibar Farm. A track runs into the field and passes under a pylon, leading down to a band of trees at the river edge. Park only at the track end, do not drive along the riverbank. N.B. the track down from the pylon can become unsuitable for all but 4×4 vehicles, dependent on the weather. Please ensure you are comfortable driving down, alternatively, park by the pylon and walk.
